BENA VILLAGE

Bena village is one of the traditional villages in the Ngada district as the heritage from the anchestors.
Located at the foot of the Inerie mountain, made the village famous for this traditional house. Bena village not only offers a unique home and tradition, but also you can also see the view of Mount Inerie.
This village has more than 40 houses were face to face. The village lies  from north to south and The entrance to the village only from the northern part of Bena Vilage. When you enter this village you just feel look like you are getting back to Stone age. Because because this village is a relic of the stone age that still exist today. We will encounter rocks neatly arranged in this village as the foundation of homes, and in the middle of the village there is an altar constructed of stone as well as a sacrifice to the ancestors in this village.
The other interesting thing that we can find in this village is when you enter the houses there are several buffalo horn, jaw and fangs displayed swine hanging lined up in front of the house as a symbol of social status of people in this village. Horns, jaw and fangs pork hung it usually comes from animals that were sacrificed during traditional ceremonies by each tribe in the village.
Bena village situated on south part of Bajawa Town, you can reach this village by car or motor bike and it takes only 15 minutes from Bajawa. You can not find any accommodation in this village because the distance to the center of Bajawa is close so normally the customer stay overnight in Bajawa.
